What if popular actors take out IPO for making their own new movies???

Who do you think is the most popular actor or actress? Amir, AB, Shahrukh, Akshay, Aishwarya or Katrina? It is a question of personal choice there would be different number of people who would be liking these actors in different proportion. Lets say there is maximum number of people who like Amir Khan. Other actors are having various different number of people liking them.

What might be different implications of these likings commensurating to various numbers. Lets imagine a situation in which a popular actor to make a movie launches an IPO. This IPO is to raise the money to make the movie. Lets say for example the phase value of each share is Rs. 10 and there are 1 cr fans world wide who have liking for Amir Khan. 80 Lac being Domestic audience and 20 lac international and out of this 40% are there willing to invest at least Rs. 100 i.e. 10 share each. It means Amir would be raising at least 10*10*400000 = Rs. 400 MN , quite a good sum to make a big movie.

There would be different phases in which money would be collected, phases being share application, share allotment and call money. These IPO would be listed in stock exchange.

If an IPO is getting over subscribed it means that the share of movie will be traded at premium. This means a hit movie even before its made.

Suppose the movie is released and its a hit, the box office collection in first week is good. (Please note that the box office collection is directly related to no. of ticket sold). If the movie is good than the share price will be going up.

Also there will be instances when the fans would be buying more no. of tickets to increase the market value of actors and also there would be investors who would be focusing more and more to influence the sale of ticket by spreading positive word of mouth amongst their peers.

So a movies success will not be only dependent upon its being good but also on the part of rigging done by various investors.

Lebanese Chicken

I am posting this blog after a along time. Though the Post will be general in nature and I will not be discussing any Idea. Sunday, as it was today. I slept till 1 pm and then had chole bhature 1 and 1/2 plates. I promised glory that I will be treating her with Lebanese chicken and other Lebanese dishes. In evening we went to Saket and had Lebanese chicken, humoose (a paste of cereal topped-up with olive oil). though the taste was good but Glory did not like it much. She asked me for Ice cream, which I should not have brought her that but I did. she had nutty cone and I had, as usual, hot chocolate fudge. I will be sleeping now as I will be going to the office tomorrow. I am not very regular on this space as am bit busy for GMAT preparation.
